This sums up my views PERFECTLY - trivializing rape is NOT funny. You have the freedom of speech, but that doesn’t make you immune from being called on as a fucking arsehole that you are.

9gag - normally an innocuous source of humor here in the Tumblrsphere (from their description: “We re-define the meaning of FUN on tumblr.”) - posted an incredibly rapey, triggering graphic of duct tape with the words “Changes ‘no no no’ into ‘mm mm mm’” on it, and then wrote “She seems to like it now.” (image at link)
So, today in rape culture. They don’t have their Ask open, so the only thing I can think to do to express my abject disgust is to reblog the text and say it.
I can’t emphasize this enough. Rape jokes in 9gag and such sites are getting so fucking annoying - and if you think it’s somehow cool to make rape jokes - that’s because you’re a fucking privileged arsehole. Not only you trivialize rape through rape jokes, but also the suffering of those who’ve suffered such tragedies in their lives. And I request everyone to stop reblogging such posts.
